TACMIL supports Midwifery Association of Pakistan

18 nursing/midwifery leaders from Rawalpindi/Islamabad attended the formal handover of computer and office equipment to Mrs. Imtiaz Kamal, President of MAP on September 9th.  TACMIL is providing this material support to MAP, the professional association of midwives in Pakistan, as part of its overall activities to strengthen midwifery.  TACMIL senior nursing/midwifery advisor, Dr. Patrice White, discussed the importance of professional associations.  Mrs. Clara Pasha, Technical Midwifery Advisor, presented follow-up activities of midwives sponsored by TACMIL to attend the recent Triennial Congress of the International Federation of Midwives in Glasgow.  After a presentation of the history of MAP and its overall aims by Mrs. Kamal, those present discussed current challenges midwives face and set a date to form a local MAP chapter in Islamabad/Rawalpindi.
